Speed dating! The idea was a simple one: find potential team mates using the tried and tested speed dating scenario…
My first and last ever experience of speed dating. I have got to admit I failed on all counts. I’m sure that if it was the real thing to find the real one, I would have been the guy stuffing his face with wasabi peas whilst cramping someones style with talk of the life and times of Stanley Kubrick – the St Albams years. Well in truth it wasn’t that bad but I did fail to canvass the room, only just getting half the room. I also failed to have a concrete plan, quite a lot of people had their companies sussed right down to the soundtrack of the ad. That wasn’t me on the day. I had previously been quite nervous about this. There’s only so much filler chitchat and diversion tactics that you can use before the 3rd person along has worked it out! Nevertheless, after the failed ‘team building’ speed dating episode we all trudged to the bar…and lo and behold the rest as they say is history (ok that’s the condensed version but you get the general idea?)
